Thank you, Excess. As an American subscriber I appreciate the inclusion of Washington and the spirit that initially embodied this country. I hope our future - planet wide- has the wisdom to take what is best from our collective past, as we (eventually) reimagine our future. Best to you.

As I’ve always said, as goes Australia, goes us all. Those not paying attention to world politics do not understand the value of forewarning! Thank you for this incredible post and I will be sharing it with my large gathering of family today. God Bless you and all our fellow substackers! And to my American compatriots Happy Thanksgiving and for the rest of you, I will be adding all of you to my reasons to be thankful today.

What a fantastic post. You seem to know more about our history than many of our own citizens. I live in Texas, btw. Happy Thanksgiving Day to you also! I have often said that a world wide day of Thanksgiving would be a good idea. Even after the last 4 years.

Another excellent post. I think of Washington often. A different breed of men back then. I try to imagine what it must have been like; 7 years of war, of loss after loss, but not falling to despair. And the living conditions. So many of the men had no shoes, and hiked miles and miles with burlap wrapped around bleeding feet, starving. A great man, indeed and in deed.

When I get really down about current events, I think back to what it must have been like back then and I pray that God bless us like he did back then for surely the hand of God was on Washington and the others. I pray.

Wonderful article...inspiring reminder...and a sobering warning about the war at hand. There’s not a single event that unifies us all to action. It’s advancing methodically to our destruction from multiple vectors. Valley Forge made sense, albeit with untold courage. Today’s war is very very different.

This is to let you know that your most recent article about re-opening the covid camps, is not linking from the email to your substack platform. Clicking on its title doesn't work.

Thanks for this piece, which caught my eye here, up over, and which led me to read (mostly) your ‘Theatre of War’ artifact, whereupon I would simply wish to note to you that here in Oregon, a supermajority, forty-year-reigning-one-party State, “the term” has long been called, coordination.

PS I especially loved the Victoria construction workers showing tyranny for what it is. Be well.

Dear ExcessDeathsAU, Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes, and the honor to George Washington. Your blog has been a bright light in these times of tyranny. May it continue to be so.

pleased to restack your post today and

offer the following comment:

life is played out on a universal chesslike board comprising dark and light beings,

with all shades inbetween

but unlike a chess match, when our white bishop meets black rook,

black rook transforms to white rook

we strive to be better teachers, fading the grays into shades of white

as pawns, many of us are simply content, to serve on the side of light
