Dear Friends, I am blown away by your comments. Mostly, I am grateful for you and our substack community of like-minded people, different and wild. I also want to share with you a post by another Australian substacker 'Lies are Unbekoming' on Anzac Day. Look at this:

The same story everywhere since Covid kicked off, and obviously, many thousands of years before that. The Covid response was a petri dish for examining human behavior - and government/bureaucratic/administrative behavior - under stress, and practically every institution failed miserably.
Interesting, though. In the response to Covid, in perhaps most every response to a catastrophe (real or not), individuals seem to get it right, the "common people" like your grandfather get it right, and those with degrees and PhD's and titles and prestige get it thoroughly, murderously wrong.
Why is it that sociopaths seem to want to gain power over others; to use them as stepping stones?
I am proud of my pioneer forebears. My grandfather [WA] come back after WW1 with 'shell shock' from the Western Front. Living in NSW, I only got to see him twice when I was young.
My Father joined the Navy [in Perth] after putting his age up to do so. Saw a lot of action up around the islands in WW2; and would tear-up on the only two occasions he mentioned it to me, in regards to the number of dead Yanks on the beachheads. They were mostly his age.
My Grandfather on Mum's side was in the Victorian Light Horse. He saw, and in the slaughter at Gallipoli!
He came back with three wounds; then re-enlisted to be sent back to Palestine on camels.

I proudly took Our (Commonwealth Of Australia) Federal Red Ensign to our dawn service this morning; To my surprise, the President of the local RSL even let me Raise the Red Ensign on the steps of the monument for all to see;
We can win this War if only people would learn who they ARE (in the eyes of GovCo), How we came to have Federation under The Southern Cross via Blessing Of God, the Blood Sacrifice of Our 62,000 ANZAC and Where they (we all) have Authority OVER GovCo;
Lest we forget the current crop of evil motherfuckers in control of my country. Lest we forget that State pigs FIRED ON UNARMED LOCKDOWN PROTESTORS ON AUSTRALIAN SOIL. Lest we forget that hi-tech microwave BATTLE WEAPONS were used by AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL PIGS on civilians IN CANBERRA. You nailed it. I almost choked when they chanted at the Dawn Service this morning, how ‘freedom’ was won, by those who gave their lives. These idiots in suits really do have NO idea. God help us.

What most don't realise is our armed forces have been twisted,corrupted and by something as mundane as cash. Since Timor the government has paid the servicemen cash bonuses for serving oversees.
How I know- My sister married one and he is the typical example of a career soldier. The pos served every conflict from Timor to Afghanistan and around the mid 2000 she was telling me that he got almost his entire wage tax free on top of his salary iirc around 90k tax free.
I had an argument with mum at the time, as I said "what do you call a person that fights, kills and potentially dies for their country, a solder.
What do you call a person that does it for cash?"
The SAS is a prime example and we're not being told a fraction of the low deeds they've done. Imagine the soldiers morals and ethics killing for cash and not believing in the whys just wanting that cash. The good onea are the ones that cannot reconcile this with themselves and self harm in some way, but the shit keep going back because "if I don't someone else would so I may as well have the money"
If it goes to crap anyone believing the smiling face and finger on the trigger guard is our friend needs to understand that the person has been in a corrupted institution being tempted, rwarded and punished. All to scupt an amoral kilker whose qualms have been euthanised to survive.
Fair warning, trust behaviours not words or a vague self belief about an institution that isn't what it was.

that is brilliant and a spot on observation. it guts me, too. i never thought i'd see our government lie so blatantly to us and not a silly politician lie but departmental lies told bald-faced in a propaganda barrage to beat us into submission. it's awful. it does make you want to drop out and walk away. it ruins our feeling of having a solid good homeland to be proud of, as it appears that ruthless parasites have infested it
