Australian Senate rejects and obfuscates excess deaths inquiry while the ABS erases the dead from history.

Dear Readers,
Firstly, let me apologise if the article seems a bit disjointed. I have been thinking a lot about the fires in Hawaii, and what they represent for us in Australia, New Zealand, and our friends in the Pacific Island nations. Regardless of the method, what happened in Hawaii could be either deliberate or administrative neglect according to the definition of democide. The results are the same. I aim to have an article on this soon once I gather my thoughts. Do not be afraid - there is a lot we can do.
Yet, we are still dying in excess due to covid policy and this must never be forgotten. They are still lying to us, and I believe will soon create a distraction to blow us off course from our collective mission to expose their crimes, which is the greatest crime humanity has ever experienced.
Finally, I want to thank you, my readers. I have no staff, no social media. It’s just me, and I also work, although I believe my work on Substack is the most important work I do. Everyone who subscribes, donates, reads, and shares the articles engages in an act of rebellion against what is happening and makes me feel a lot less alone. Loneliness is a killer right now. Let us pray (Psalm 144):
1 Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.
Yours Faithfully,

V. Final thoughts
VI. Epilogue - on Royal Commissions
I. Introduction – key principles of democide through a covid lens
Obfuscate - to make something less clear and harder to understand, especially intentionally.
Democide - The intentional killing of an unarmed or disarmed person by government agents acting in their authoritative capacity as a result of its government's policy, including by direct action, indifference, and neglect.
Witness-survivor - people who are aware of the government crimes: protestors, writers, activists, dissidents, fired workers, anyone who speaks out. Witness-survivors include the vaccine-injured who know they are/were injured by the jabs including their surviving families, as well as the unvaccinated who were subject to administrative cruelty leading to suicide, depression, loss of income, careers, incarceration, lawfare, etc.
Democide occurs through multiple avenues across many stages, and the stages may occur simultaneously. Broadly, these stages are:
Stage 1: Active murder (acute and ongoing)
Stage 2: Coverup/obfuscation
Stage 3: Witness-survivor torment
My opinion is that the Australian Senate, by blocking genuine enquiry into the excess deaths as recorded by the ABS, furthered the covid democide through indifference and neglect. By acting in their official, authoritative capacities, the Australian Senators who voted ‘no’ to even affirm that the deaths were occurring as reported by the ABS at the time committed democide.
A critical aspect is that the above activities are occurring while people are still dying in excess and as a result of their policies. In other words, coverup is occurring while the murders are still happening. This is an example of ‘stages of democide occurring simultaneously.’
Further, it is my opinion that the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is also committing democide by erasing the dead and their manner of deaths from the official historical record (see below). It is my opinion that the actions of the ABS constitute democide in terms of Stage 2 (coverup), again, occurring simultaneously with the deaths.
To sum, these two government bodies (The Australian Senate and the Australian Bureau of Statistics), acting in their authoritative capacities, are participating in multiple aspects of democide, starting with (but not limited to) denial and cover-up. These actions shift the blame from their policies which caused the deaths, obfuscating reality as well as torturing the witness-survivors (Stage 3).
The purpose of witness-survivor torment (Stage 3) is three-fold
1) to solidify the prevailing ‘narrative’ as emphasised by government-media-censorship complex
2) to re-write history as the victor
3) to demoralise the witness.
Witness-survivor torment is psychological warfare. The witness-survivor is tormented into mental illness and depression for the ultimate aim of demoralisation and inaction. Obfuscation of reality in the form of abusive or contradictory email replies to citizens (or not replying at all) is a key aspect of this torment, as is social isolation of witness-survivors. They want you to give up, go away, and finally, question reality and your own sanity to the point where you just accept their narrative. Then, sufficiently broken, you will accept the next narrative, and they will never be questioned again.
II. Senate Vote history – excess deaths inquiry
Firstly, thank you to
for initially bringing the Senate vote to public attention, and for showing us that there were, in fact TWO votes motioned by Sen. Babet about the excess deaths. The first vote was one with ‘investigatory teeth and defined political and procedural scope’ (my interpretation), and the second vote was essentially to ‘affirm that the excess deaths were occurring with vague calls for more investigation.’
Vote 1 – “Investigation with defined political and procedural scope”
Senator Babet (United Australia Party) 23 March, 2023.
Please read the full terms of the motion here including those Senators who rose and/or spoke for and against: https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2023-03-23.27.2
LNP statement by Sen. Jonathon Duniam (Tasmania, Liberal Party, Shadow Minister for Environment, Fisheries and Forestry):
The coalition thinks this is a very important issue. Given the number of select committees being operated by the Senate at the moment—I'm being advised that there are five—our preference would be to see this issue interrogated through the Community Affairs References Committee and have an inquiry into these very terms of reference there. As such, we won't be supporting the motion before the chamber. As stated, it's an important issue that requires a bit of sunlight, to coin a phrase from Senator McKim. Let's have a look and interrogate the matter there.
Labor statement by Sen. Anthony Chisholm (Queensland, Australian Labor Party, Assistant Minister for Education):
The government opposes this motion. We oppose it on the basis that there are already mechanisms that exist to undertake the analysis that the motion contemplates. Trusted organisations including the ABS, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and the Department of Health and Aged Care work together to ensure that we have a robust system of reporting mortality and morbidity at the national level. This work, of course, is informed by the work undertaken by state and territory health departments in their disease surveillance and health-reporting frameworks.
Our existing framework of disease surveillance and reporting has been built up over decades and continues to provide the data required by public health experts to undertake the detailed epidemiological research into issues such as social determinants of health that is contemplated in this motion.
“Trusted organisations like the ABS.”
Remember this quote, readers.
Please read the Hansard1 for the evidence of the day. p. 1108 Vote 1.
Ayes: 4, Noes: 35, Majority: (31)
Vote 2 – “Affirmation & ‘further enquiry’”
Senator Babet 23 March, 2023.
After the first defeat, Senator Babet goes back to the drawing board with a new motion that has been re-focussed to more of an ‘affirmation’ that, according to the ABS, the excess deaths are occurring. This is more likely to have major-party appeal. Let’s see how he did.
The entire motion:
The results as reported by Dr Altman on his Substack:
You can read the motion on the Hansard p. 1155.
Noes: 30 (1 majority), Ayes: 29
Question negatived.
Senator Babet defeated twice.
III. Senatorial responses - the ‘no’ votes by phone and emails
Late May, 2023. Method 1 - I contacted many of the Senate offices by phone
I generally followed a script that included the following elements:
“I am wondering if you could help me with something (reads Hansard quoting Vote 2).”
“I note that Senator X voted no. Is there a formal response as to why?”
“I am just a concerned citizen following the excess deaths.”
Parties and Senate offices have been redacted due to legal reasons.
Party 1 (10 offices contacted)
Senate office 1. “Senator will not give a statement. As a rule, s/he doesn’t explain how s/he votes.” Staffer was unaware the vote occurred, didn’t know about the excess deaths.
Senate office 2. “Senator will not give his/her reasons behind his/her views and votes in general. Senator disagrees with Senator Babet in general as do most Australians and the comments from this member in general.” Staffer didn’t know about these data. No one else has raised this issue before.
Senate office 3. Not sure about the vote or the excess deaths. Said s/he will ask the senator. Invited me to email and s/he would see.
Senate office 4. Don’t know the details about the vote or the excess deaths, please email.
Senate office 5. S/he will find out if there is a statement, please email. Doesn’t know about the vote or the excess deaths.
Senate office 6. There has been no formal statement but s/he will follow it up via email. No one has ever brought the issue up to the office, staffer personally has never heard about the excess deaths.
Senate office 7. Please email for a response, didn’t know about the vote. Yes, the receptionist said that people had emailed the senator about the excess deaths issue, people have approached the office with emails, s/he knew about it personally.
Senate office 8. Please email. Doesn’t know anything about the excess deaths, no one has approached the office in email or on the phone.
Senate office 9. Not familiar with bill please email. Staffer wasn’t personally aware of the excess deaths, no one had emailed or approached the office about it.
Senate office 10. Staffer hasn’t heard of the excess deaths, as far as s/he knows no one has contacted the office but s/he hasn’t been across all the emails.
Party 2 (4 offices contacted)
Senate office 1. “Health isn’t this Senator’s portfolio. The Senator is [redacted] only, speak with Senator 2.” Very aggressive trying to get my name and details. Hung up on me.
Senate office 2. “It’s good to get an understanding of this…we are concerned as this is the Senator’s portfolio.” Staffer knew about the excess deaths.
Senate office 3. Not across the party room conversations around votes, pointed me in the direction of Senator 2, didn’t really discuss the excess deaths.
Senate office 4. Can email for an official statement. Aggressively asked for my details and hung up on me.
After being told to email by the staffers (as above), on May 31, 2023 a ‘motivated reader’ of ExcessDeathsAU emailed all Australian Senators who voted ‘no.’
Their parties, emails and any identifying information has been redacted. Redacted information includes names, phone numbers, social media accounts, websites, gender, geographic locations, emails, case numbers and persons speaking on behalf of other identified persons or groups. Not shown (but not indicated by [REDACTED]) are political party ‘email banners’, statements, graphics or party colours which would identify respondents.
As of August 19, 2023: of the 30 ‘no’ voters contacted via email, two responded.

· Have members of the community contacted your office via phone or email after the loss of friends and family from these deaths (beginning in 2021 and continuing to today)?
· Is there an official statement from your office explaining why you voted 'no' to an enquiry to look into this?
· If your reason for voting 'no' is because 'current government departments are already investigating' ? If yes could you please provide this evidence?
· Does your office have any information to support when this period of excess deaths will conclude?
· Is there a percentage or particular statistic of excess mortality in Australia that would concern you enough to support investigating?

In case there was an issue responding to me [REDACTED], [REDACTED].
Some other Senate officers have responded to explain why they believe no further investigation is required.
"Were a consequence of people's delayed access to healthcare during this time. By way of example, in 2021 Cancer Australia published a report noting that biopsies, scans, surgeries had plummeted, they expect that 20,000 cases may have been missed at an early detection stage, leading to an increased likelihood of mortality. "
The theory of the missed early detection during the lock downs would definitely account for a number of preventable cases going on to be more serious which would play into those stats later on.
Also the major causes of deaths being mentioned in the ABS report are:
Dementia ,Ischaemic heart disease , Respiratory diseases , Other cardiac conditions , Cerebrovascular diseases and Diabetes.
With deaths due to other cardiac conditions 19.8% above the baseline average.
Not having ordinary access to biopsies, scans and surgeries would not go far to explain the portion of non cancer deaths.
[REDACTED] WA Health published a report that raises concerns around the timing of these excess deaths and the timing of the vaccine rollout.
https://www.health.wa.gov.au/articles/a_e/adverse-event-following-immunisation-aefi
It only shows 2021 data but section 5 & 8 show how many were affected with the appendix highlighting the possible links to more serious issues that should be investigated.
Understanding this is a topic with many opinions, I'm trying to look at the most reliable sources of information being our own health department and the Bureau of statistics.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Many Thanks

Hi [REDACTED]
Thank you for your last email. Senator [REDACTED] hopes this email satisfies your interest in the ABS data and how and when it is interpreted. The Australian Government values and supports the use of data to improve health and aged care outcomes for Australians. The Department of Health and Aged Care collects and maintains important data sets, research, and models, including mortality data sets, and is committed to making this information available in a safe and ethical manner.
Excess mortality is the difference between the observed and expected number of deaths. The ABS explicitly states that the Provisional Mortality Statistics Report should not be used as an official excess mortality estimate and an annual publication of excess mortality for 2022 is expected to be released mid-June 2023, with further analysis detailed available in October 2023.
Whilst the most recent data from the ABS indicates that there were more deaths than expected in 2022, an important pattern is emerging whereby all-cause mortality (i.e., both COVID and non-COVID mortality) is moving closer to the expected level. The Department of Health and Aged Care is undertaking further analysis of excess mortality, particularly in relation to priority and vulnerable population groups.
It is important to note that the excess deaths reported for 2022 follows on from a period of low mortality in 2020.
• In 2020, when mortality was relatively low, many Australians were keeping their distance from one another due to COVID-related restrictions. This meant that Australians, particularly those with chronic conditions and underlying health conditions, had minimal exposure to communicable diseases.
• In 2022, as COVID-related restrictions were lifted Australians were able to move around more freely, which brought with it greater exposure to contagions such as influenza and the common cold as well as COVID-19.
While the exact cause of excess deaths is unknown at this stage, there are several possible reasons, including:
• long-term health impacts of COVID-19 or where COVID-19 has worsened another health condition causing death;
• delayed deaths from existing underlying health problems due to the absence of many respiratory diseases in 2020 and 2021, which would have otherwise caused deaths in those years;
• reductions in the timeliness of routine healthcare (e.g. health assessments, diagnostic testing and elective surgeries); and
• pandemic-influenced lifestyle changes, such as excess consumption of alcohol and unhealthy food, and a reduction in exercise.
Care must be taken when relying only on mortality counts. While ABS publications such as the Provisional Mortality Statistics report can provide an indication of where counts of deaths are above or below expectations, this does not consider important changes in population size, age structures, or other factors influencing mortality.
• For example, while 2021 saw the second highest number of deaths (second only to 2022) since 2015, the age-standardised death rate for 2021 was the second lowest on record in Australia (second only to 2020).

Was it from the The Department of Health and Aged Care or the ABS?
You mentioned "While the exact cause of excess deaths is unknown"
That being said I am still puzzled why the government does not have an inquiry to look at all the factors.
From what you have outlined there are likely multiple factors contributing to the increased mortality. How many of those can be made avoidable in the future.
A single death is a tragedy, 20,000 deaths is a statistic.

Dear [REDACTED],
Thank you for your email relating to mortality in Australia, particularly mortality in 2022. The ABS website shows that in 2022 more Australians died than historical averages expected. The increased deaths in Australia in 2022 were reflected internationally.
Reviewing the data, many of these increased deaths were directly due to covid-19 infection, while others were a consequence of people's delayed access to healthcare during this time. By way of example, in 2021 Cancer Australia published a report noting that biopsies, scans, surgeries had plummeted, they expect that 20,000 cases may have been missed at an early detection stage, leading to an increased likelihood of mortality.
The [REDACTED] did not support the establishment of a Select Committee into Australia's Excess Mortality as there is data publicly available on the ABS website, there is currently a range of reviews that are being conducted into the consequences of government decisions during covid-19 that are awaiting the publication of their findings, and there has been a Senate Select Committee into Covid-19. As such, it was [REDACTED] view that this additional review was not required at this time.
[REDACTED] are committed to ensuring that government decisions are transparent and the data is available to understand the impact on government decisions. As a [REDACTED], [REDACTED] continues to ask questions of the government at Senate Estimates about Covid-19, including death figures and the impact of policy decisions.

V. Final thoughts
Citizens have been writing to their elected officials in the major parties (LNP, Labor, Greens) and sending me the official responses. Readers, I see a lot – much more than I share and can share. One thing I can tell you, is that the majority of the politicians are reading from the same script. I do not know if they really believe what they are telling you, but what is clear is that they are gaslighting you and this has a profound demoralising effect on the witness-survivors.
What we are seeing is a clear example of institutional capture. The elected officials do not have independent thought. They lack moral courage, outsource their thinking to ‘experts,’ and are incapable or unwilling to ‘go off script.’ These people serve the Party, not you. Once elected, they do not need to answer your questions and often do not. When questioned, they defer to the Party, or the ‘experts.’ When they do communicate, it is along strict Party lines and the major parties are colluding.
There is only the Party, saying nothing at all, or ‘deferring to experts’ which is their current protective mechanism from prosecution.
And if you are wondering why ‘the media is not reporting on this, why there is such a tight script’ perhaps look no further than here: 116 PAGES of international and US media who took vast sums of money from the US Department of Health and Human Services under the ‘We Can Do This’ covid campaign. https://wecandothis.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Paid%20Media%20List%20for%20Posting%207.12.22_508c.pdf

Stick together. Do not give up. Warn others.
Australian gov't apparently began ramping up funding for ABS around 2015, supposedly to "modernize ABS systems and processes, with the aim of delivering the best possible statistical program in more efficient and innovative ways" (sorry to quote wiki). It seems ABS has made good use of increased funding to obfuscate and manipulate data, in particular excess deaths, as you point out. Same no doubt applies to all OECD-member countries' to whom national stats agencies report so OECD is obviously chaperoning the fraud. It's interesting this occurred under a conservative gov't (Abbott) supposedly in favour of small gov't and that in 2014 Oz hosted G20 summit where members adopted "Approved adequacy of loss absorbing capacity of global systemically important banks in resolution" ("resolution" meaning "liquidation") which, basically overrides Australia's bank deposit guarantee scheme. So all these things are linked, as of course you are aware. Anyway, great article EDAU.
